My fellow Chargers,

Chariot Yearbook Photo

With the thirteenth anniversary of Sept 11 attacks just the other day, take this time to remember all the things you cherish and hold dear. Think about the dreams you have and goals you wish to achieve and make them happen, not only for yourself but for those who did not have the opportunity to because of the events of Sept 11, 2001.

Thank you for attending the Remembrance Ceremony. It showed that we are a formidable force that no one can stop. If we are knocked down, we will always rebound and come back much harder.

The USGA had our first New Horizons Summit at the Orange Campus; for those of you that attended, thank you! We look forward to taking your feedback and making sure we address your concerns and make the necessary changes.

If you could not attend Monday’s Charging Forward Information Session, please visit http://www.newhaven.edu/ChargingForward/ for more information and check out the article on the front page.

Family Day is on Saturday, and I hope you all have a lot of fun and spend some quality time with your families. Please join me in cheering on the Charger Football team to victory against Assumption at Della Camera Stadium at 1 p.m. this Saturday.
I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors this week.
Warmest regards,
Richard J. Rotella
USGA President
Putting you in USGA!

My fellow Chargers,

First, I would like to welcome the new students to UNH and the returning students back to campus. My name is Richard Rotella, and I am your Undergraduate Student Government Association President.

Richard and Foti cmyk

USGA is a student run governing body, which allows you the opportunity to voice concerns regarding the university. As an undergraduate student, you are automatically a member of USGA. We encourage you to attend our meetings which occur every Friday in the Alumni Lounge (located in Bartels Campus Center) at 11:00 a.m. If you would like to learn more about USGA, there will be an Information Session this Friday, Aug 29, at 10:00 a.m. in the Alumni Lounge.

Please feel free to stop and say hello if you see me around campus. You can also contact me via e-mail at USGAPresident@newhaven.edu, by phone at 203-932-7300, or during my office hours. I wish you the best of luck this year at the University of New Haven.

Go Chargers!

Dear Chargers,

Zani Imetovski, USGA President

Zani Imetovski, USGA President

The semester will soon come to a close and my term will officially come to an end on July 1. I am profoundly grateful and humbled to be given the opportunity by you to serve as your President; it will be an experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life.

This year would not be possible without my dedicated Executive Board members; Andrew Collins, Colby Thammavongsa, Isaak Kifle, Megan Scutti and Sean McFadden. They have worked hard and devoted countless hours to serving the student body and our clubs and organizations. I also thank Dean Johnson, Greg Overend, Shelissa Newball, Andrew Mayer and Colleen Kerrigan who have always supported myself and USGA.

At the end of the day it is important to remember that our time here at UNH is short and we should make the most of it. The most rewarding experience you can take from this campus is the friends you meet and the experiences you share together. When you finally leave UN, I hope you keep in mind to do good where you can, be kind and leave a positive impact on your community.

Warm regards,

Zani Imetovski

Chargers,

zani_newspaper photo

This week take the some time out of your busy schedules and call someone from your family like your grandparents. Family is one of the most important things in our lives that we easily take for granted.

This week is the last week to submit your applications to run for USGA President, Treasurer or Senator. Go to USGA’s Charger Connection page, and under forms, you will find the application which you can fill out and submit.

I ask that everyone be as careful as possible when walking around campus because of the wet floors and ice on the walkways. Take extra precaution when using the stairs and always use the hand railing.

Yours truly,

Zani Imetovski

Fellow Chargers,

zani_newspaper photo

Recently I stumbled across something I read some time ago and would like to share with you:

“If you sometimes get discouraged consider this fellow:

He dropped out of grade school.

Ran a country store.

Went broke.

Took 15 years to pay off his bills.

Took a wife. Unhappy marriage.

Ran for the House. Lost twice.

Ran for the Senate. Lost twice.

Delivered a speech that became a classic. Audience indifferent.

Attacked daily by the press and despised by half the country.

Despite all this, imagine how many people all over the world have been inspired by this awkward, bright—rumpled, brooding man who signed his name simply,

A. Lincoln.”

Sometimes you just have to keep on going, even if all you want to do is give up. I wish you all well and a great week.

Yours truly,

Zani Imetovski, USGA President
